Not willing to take the excuse of injuries, which the team had, he put the blame on Olsen' s play calling. Let me remind you, that Olsen called the plays for most of the previous season. If you remember, the team could not score a touchdown under Linehan's play calling. But none the less, Olsen's playing caused the losses and that became Linehan's story. Why did that become his story? Simple, he had no answers for the injuries to the offensive line. Also, Linehan took over the play calling after demoting Olsen during the season. Now, let us look at this year.

Well, Linehan can't find the reason for three losses, so now he puts the blame on the quarterback, Marc Bulger. I am no Marc Bulger fan. He does have his share of blame in the three losses. He replaces Bulger with Trent Green who will face the upsurging Buffalo Bills behind the same offensive line that protected Bulger so well.

I wonder what bachup plan Linehan has should Trent Green get knocked out of the game. I mean who would he put in the game Marc Bulger or Brock Berlin. Also, think about this, Bulger will still make his money while sitting on the bench.

I beleive that the players have given up on Scott Linehan and maybe even Jim Hasslet. I do support the firing of both, and I feel it should be done now and not later. I also support Al Saunders as interim coach to ride out the season. When the season ends, Chip Rosenbloom should ask for the resignation of John Shaw and Jay Zygmunt. I beleive when you do a total house cleaning, you start from the top and work you way down. At the end of the season, Rosenbloom can make decisions on coaching, player, and mangement changes. Chip Rosenbloom needs step up and take the lead over the direction of this team now not later.

Will the Rams Beat the Giants?

I cannot tell you wether they can or can't be the Giants, but I do know a couple of quick changes, short of firing Linehan, that might help.

Thursday, a friend in work, told me that Boomer Eisen thinks that Rams will beat the Giants. I think Boomer my have taken one too many hits to the head. Those of us who know this team has a multi personality disorder, will warn you that one never knows which personality will show up on Sunday. Partly because they have a coach that can't center on personality, like a winning pesonality.

Fo r the Rams to beat the Giants, they have to get to Manning. Last week against Washington, he completed 19 passes in 35 attempts with one interception unlike Bulger who did not throw an interception for once. But this all rest on the Rams Offense who has to contol the flow of the game and score points. They have to make it easier on the defense. Saunders has to go back to fundamental football.

Saunder's system has been discribed as quick rythem balance attack the focus on first downs. In the first down department last week, they managed only 8 first downs in 24:50 while Phillie manged 28 first downs and five touchdowns in 35: 10 minutes. Let me suggest this that when the opposing team starts to pile on the points first downs become secondary to to quick scores which eventually adds to the interception and sack columns, and evetually wearing down your own defense. Remember you want to wear down the opposing defense.

For the Rams to beat the Giants, Saunders needs to put his system aside and go back to fundamentals. One suggestion like cutting down mental errors such as I don't know false starts. Then make the team realize that you don't need to the whole ten yards in one chunck. Gaining four yards per down in three plays you have the first down. When slowly gaining yardage, you keep the defense out on the field and eat up the clock.

So, the Rams can win if they rattle Manning enough and if they play a simplified and error free offense.

Also, this same friend wants to how the Rams could get rid of an All Pro Quarterback, Kurt Warner, for Marc Bulger? I just don't have the answer.

What if the NFL had the Patriot Super Bowl Tapes?

Walsh gave the tapes to the NFL, and they claimed they found nothing new. The Man who said that he damaging evidence on the Patriots, delivers the tapes, and we hoped that those tapes would avenge that Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. We had our hopes up that the evil one, Bill Belicheck, would be brought to shame only to have them squashed.

The NFL found nothing new from the tapes. Walsh's lawyer says that he never mentioned anything about Patriots versus Ram Super Bowl. Let me sum it up by saying that Walsh had nothing.

But ask oneself, what if the NFL did have the evidence of cheating during that Superbowl?

I want to explore that possibility by asking the following question.

What if Walsh did turnover the Super Bowl tape, and the NFL exposed that tape to the public?

A lot of gambling occurs during the Super Bowl. People loose a lot of money and maybe their homes. They go into serious debt. And we can go even further down that road. Drunken and angry husbands beat their wives or kill them, and of neither, I do not joke.

All of this brings retaliation against Bill and possible the NFL, so then NFL does their honorable thing: they hide or destroy the tapes.

I not a conspiracy theorist. This pick will have a positive impact of the defensive line which has been negected since the departure of Winstrom. Scott Linehan has already declared him to be a starter, and will join Carricker and Little.

In the past the Rams have pulled some cheap tricks to fill their needs, such as the time in LA when they needed a running back, so they got two for the price of one really good running back. They signed Curtis Warner and Marcus Dupree, both attempting comebacks from knee surgeries. Needless to say, they didn't work out. So, this time around I thought they would fall for the Dolphins' bait and give up their first round pick for Jason Taylor.

I must admit that I seriously thought about it. He would have met all their needs as an end in their 3-4 defense. But then I had a reality check. Taylor may only last five years.

Why give up draft pick who has maybe ten or over years in front him for someone with five years left?

So, their I stood in front of my TV nervously waiting the Rams' pick. I waited to hear the following, "St Louis has traded their first pick to Miami."

I felt releived when then selected Chris Long. They finally got it right.

Trent Green Returns to the St. Louis Rams

Trent Green returned to the Rams after seven years.
He played eight games for the Rams in 2000 before being replaced by Kurt Warner. After leaving the Rams, Green played six years for the Chiefs and one year for the Dolphins. In 2004, he peaked at 369 passes in 556 attempts with 4,591 years. He left the Dolphins after playing five games before a second concussion sidelined him.
Coach Linehan feels the addition of Green completes the quarterback position for the Rams. This may be true in the fact that Green has the potential to be a good backup for incumbent starter Marc Bulger, but that does change if you factor in the two concussions.
If Green plays, he faces the risk of another head injury and permanent brain damage. He does not only face this risk in a game but also in practice. The officail Rams site has not a thing about Spygate, and the post from which I have obtained this information mentions no names in regards to this claim.

First, even if this rumor proves to be true, the league cannot change the outcome of the game. You cannot assume that the spying caused the Rams to loose. An astrics nest to the game will do because this way the out put of the would be put doubt. I can live with that. They might also banish Belicheck from the NFL.

I can't make any more comments on this because I could go many directions and tangents, so just end now.

After Thoughts

I have some thoughts before and after spygate.

This lawsuit against the Patriots could open up other law suits against other teams. Just say, the season ticket holders for the Giants of the 1960's. Maybe last the fans of last year's NY Mets for the meltdown at the end of the season. Or beter yet, the Bengals who never played in a Superbowl. Using a the plaintiff's loose base logic, those who gampled and lost on the Rams and Patriots' Superbowl should be able to sue for lost winnings.

Now, let us visit Marc Bulger, the 67 million dollar wonder. If the new owners take over, do you realy think Bulger will still be getting that money no less be around. Remember, he hasn't brought the team to the Superbowl much less play a whole season. I don't think so.

Belicheck and Walsh controvery, one denying of spying on other teams while the other claiming he did. My money would be on Walsh because of the smear campaign the Patriots launched against him. Let us not forget the destroyed tapes. Why did Goodwell destroy those tapes?

Now, we had Linehan's meltdown in the middle of last season, and the removing of Olsen from callind the plays. Olsen had Linehan's confidence before this losing season, and the had a good past relationship. Now, a couple of new coaches also have a positive past relationship with Linehan. Like Olsen will they be thrown under the bus when the season goes arye?

Finally, being an owner how good you turn a blind eye to the Patriots' evading the salary cap? You either want to complain or copy it.

Ram Player Sues

This has gotten so ridiculous that I would rather not have to comment, but here we go. Steriod pumped players helped their ratings. Remember the attraction to the Mcquire and Sossa home run battle. The NFL Superbowl needed an attraction, the undefeated New England Patriots.

The attraction to draw veiwer watch the Patriots go undefeated. Just think of people wanted became Giant fans that night to cheer them on to destroy the Patriots, and the league cared nothing about how the Patriots got to the Superbowl. They cared only for ratings.

Remember, Goodwell investigated Bellicheck and fined him, and time to bury the past. Well, Goodwell has a problem just like Major League Owner's had a problem. You see these allegations just wont go away. Just like Baseball it will take Congress at the expense of the taxpayer to handle Spygate as well with possible prison terms to follow.

If only Goodwell, had not shoved Spygate away for the sake of ratings. Again, I am only palying around with a thought.

New Allocations

More allocations against the Pats.

New Offensive Coordinator

Rams hire Saunders

Conspracy?

I received the following in an email.

I just can't say anything but laugh. I lay the blame exactly where it belong at the feet of the owners and the front office. For thirty years, they have done this fan a great disservice. For thirty years they have failed to put some honest effort in providing us fans a team. What they have gave us, I would call a fracture and disjointed team. They provided us with one or two standout players with no supporting players. We have gotten players such as Eric Dickerson, Willie Anderson, Jerome Bettis, Kurt Warner, Issac Bruce, Terry Holt, Steve Jackson, and Marcial Fualk. I want to know what happen the Fearsome Foursome, and offensive line that block?

I must be fare to them. They did give us the 65 million dollar boy. That last remark maybe unfare to some appologts. But let us ask ourselves, what has Bulger done to deserve the 65 million dollars? Outside of his self promtions, such as "I don't care. I at least scored a touchdown," I can think of nothing else. The truth hurts doesn't it.

Oh lets us not forget about that nice new stadium that has been slowly becoming less pack. Oh how I long for the Columseim in LA when we had respected team, and this joke that our post Rosembloom leaders have give. When Linehard took over from Martz, I didn't expect the team to make to the Super Bowl in one year. Let us not forget that alot of damage had been done to this team for the last couple of decades, it would take time to regroup. This seems to be happening. One of the happenings, They talk about not just starters but the backups. Never happened in the past. They seem to be building a team not only for now, but the future.

The rams loose to the Raiders

Bulger failed to score again. The Rams Defense commited seven penalties but did have some bright spots.

There were several bright spots for the Rams defense as the starters stopped an Oakland drive on their own one-yard-line. I'm looking forward to see him and Jackson in the backfield. He has very good receiving abilites. This should help both the passing game and receiving games. It might even help the defense. The Rams do not have to score quickly as in the pass. Now, they can slow the tempo down by long drives. They use both the short passes and runs to keep the drives going, and go for the long one when need be. This should help the defense recover between drives while their opponants out on the field.

Rams Pickup a Linebacker

The Rams get Chris Draft from Charlotte.

The signing of Draft, 31, marks the second straight year the Rams have lured a
linebacker from the Carolina Panthers. I have seen anyhting since, but I have been toying the idea. I remembered when the Rams traded Jerome Bettis, and they got several draft picks that helped get to the playoffs and the Super Bowl. I remember the Martz years, and how this team gave up. They could have given up because this game had no meaning. Giants had won their game 14 hours before thus securing the last NFC wild card spot. The week before the Seahawks won the division. So, the Rams had very little reason to win this game, but they went out there played and won their game. This shows the character of this team.

Haslett Tired of Questions

Tired of questions about the Run Defense.

"I'm sick of talking about the friggin' yardage, OK?" Haslett said Monday.
"I pick up the paper every week, and I read about the yardage we've given up. It
is what it is. We haven't done well. ... But you know what? We're ninth in the
league in pass defense. We've given up four touchdowns in the last three games.
I never see you guys write that."

Haslett has a point. The press never writes the positive spin. Remember the slam that the Rams Offense could not score a touchdown. Well look at that, they been scoring points. The press just stops writing about that problem, since they been scoring. Now they write about the Run Defense. Yet, they haven't noticed the change in the Rams since Martz left. The Rams looked like a football team on Sunday. They didn't lay down and die like under Martz. Jackson running, the spinning and diving over people to gain more yards. Lets hear more about that and about the character that did not exist last years. Lets hear about whole aspects of the team.

New Play Caller

Linehan turned over calling the offensive plays. But, I have looked at the standings and they do have a long shot. They have to loose six games while Seattle looses six games. One can only hope.

This week they face a much improve Forty-Niner team. They also face the Forty-Niners with a run challenge defense and patch work offensive line. I'm looking for an oppset. The Rams have been struggling, but look at the last two weeks the Defense has somewhat improve. They held the Panthers to just 15 points. Even if the Forty-Niners may have somewhat improve, they haven't arrived. And from what I have been reading from Ram Camp, they have not reached the point of pointing fingers, like the Giants.

This teams has no earmarks of past teams, but they have character. A win is a win, as some people beleive. Some will take a win in any fashion even a an ugly win. I can take one or two ugly wins non sequestially, but consectively, does not make me feel comfortable. Hoping to recover an opponants fumble in the wanning seconds of the game to perserve a lead just doesn't do it for me. This just shows me a problem. Like the problem being your defense.
The defense the blew a supstantial lead that put the Rams behind the Seahawks by six points. Which put the Rams ahead by one point when the Rams scored in the last two minutes in the game. Just look for a common factore in the above mention points and you will find the Defense's inability to protect a lead. The Rams defense has not jelled yet, and maybe I should be concerned about the Rams.

Rams Win Ugly

Not the "Greatest Show on Turf."

The Rams won but not by a blow out.

What used to be the "Greatest Show on Turf" under former coach Mike Martz
isn't much of a show at all under new coach Scott Linehan. type='text'>Rams vs Texans

Big test for Rams new tackle. It will also be test to see if they progress. Their defense played well last week after Manning left the field, but will they come out from the start and control the game? If the defense expects respect then regardless of who starts they have to establish control. During the season they will not be face backup players.

In the past the the Rams lost games because of the defense. The defense sat back and let the offense do all the work. The Rams had a great offense. They still have a good and possibly dangerous offense. What the fans would like to see? A a good and dangerous defense to go along with that offense.

I know the posted article talks about the Barron the Rams offense tackle and I did show degress from the topic. So let me regress back to the topic. Another part of the equation for the Rams' success, the development of strong offensive and defensive lines. Last week the Rams did show some strong running. Their success on offense would be the strength of bookend offesive Tackles, Barron and Pace. I expect to see a strong game from them tonight.

Rams Colts

Tonight we get a chance to see a glimmer of what the Rams had gained. type='text'>A Decade Without A Running Game

Can you believe that? It has been almost a decade without a running game.

The Rams want to make the running game part of their plans this season. Back under Robinson I used to complain about always running the ball, and wanting them to pass the ball more. Under the Martz regime, I complained about them passing to much. I guess that I don't know what I want. Well anyway they want to bring back the running game. Linehan has had success implementing the running game in the past.

Jackson will play a major part in the running game, since the uncertainty surrounds Marshall Faulk who wants to retire.

I want to see the running game back in the offensive mix, keyword mix. I don't want it to be the only weapon the Rams will use. I want to it be a a part of a mixture. Also if you want to have a successful running game you must a good offensive line. The Rams played the New Orleans Saints in the last game of the season. After a win over the Sainst and help from the Detriot Lions the Rams played the Saints again in the Wild Card Game which they lost. That year both Buccanears and the Saints looked like either one could represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. That was
just one of the reasons that Haslett was the primary target to become the new
defensive coordinator for new Rams coach Scott
Linehan.

“I think that obviously was a big factor for me,” Linehan said. “I don’t
know that many people have gone through the ups and downs as a head coach like
Jim. I mean that respectfully. The people there on the inside know how grueling
and tough the year was for that entire organization and for Jim and his staff
and their families; he really held it together.”
Now it is Haslett’s job to instill that toughness into a revamped and reworked defensive unit that struggled last season on its way to finishing 30th in the league in total defense.

“I want our defense to be tough-minded, I want our defense to be
physical, but I also want them to be good technique guys and I want them to be
good tacklers,” Haslett said.

Maybe Hasslet will be good for the Rams, I really don't know. I must admit that I do like the idea of him as coach. The have had a problem with dicipline and mental toughness. The only way they knew how to win by blowing out the opposition. Maybe now they will have someone that could the defense a killer instinct.

Rams New Backup Quarterback

The Rams signed an exprienced backup quarterback, Gus Frerotte. He will backup Marc Bulger. Could we have a battle for starting Quaterback? Frerotte, Linehan's boy against Bulger, Martz boy. We can safely assume that Linehan and Olsen will change the offense to fit their style. Frerotte has the inside lane because he has been around Linehan in Miami, and could pickup the system quicker than Bulger. Also, Bulger has not completed the last two seasons because of shoulder injuries requiring the Rams to reley backup quarterbacks. So Linehan may cut to the chase and start Frerotte.

Rams Free Agents

The status of the Rams Free Agents.

Have the Rams Woken Up

The Rams made some moves to help their Defense.

Could Hasselette have some pull on this move.

The New Coach

I don't know how I feel about the rams new coaching staff. Ironic, may be at this time, the only thing that I can say. I remember some of games against this man. Like two games, the Rams beating the Saints in the last game of the regular game of the season only to loose to the Saints in the first round of the playoffs in the 2000 season.
From what I have been reading, Linehan would be quite comfortable if Hasslet used this position as spring board back as a head coach. One question, what about Hasslet leaving before completing the job? I guess maybe this be one of those things you have no control. I mean Linehan has no control over this happening.
I geuss that I am looking for some way to take a shot at what happen the pass couple of weeks, and I can't. The one thing I have learned from this team, never get your hopes up too high because the Rams somehow find a way to crush them. I want to really beleive that things can change for the good, but experiance shows me other wise. I'll just wait and see next year, and hope for the best anyway. Good to have you Linehan, Olsen, and Hasslet, and God Bless you.

Mami Offensive Coordinater becomes the Rams new Head Coach.

Scott Linehan, an offensive coordinator with two NFL teams,

was named coach of the Rams on Thursday.

But, don't get too exited.

Scott Linehan is a sharp offensive tactician who will

call his own plays -- just as Mike Martz used to do.

Could Martz being warning the new coach.

But Linehan should also expect the Rams' front office to be very involved, Martz said.
"They'll pick the players and coaches for him, and he'll do whatever the do," Martz said.

Rams 20 Cowboys 10

The Rams win their final game. Wouldn't you know they their final game. Throw a coaching change the future becomes even more uncertain. I can not guess how the Rams will next year. My main concern would be the new coach. Will the Rams go after someone who could make a change or go on the cheap. You can have all the talented players, but if you don't have a coach to lead them than forget it. I guess also if you don't have the players and a good coach, but ownership (such as they have now) you might as well blow the season. Maybe the last two months might bring a bright future for the Rams. In away it put an end to the past. What do I hope for? Not having to make comebacks in almost every game. It might make good vidio highlights and once in awhile, it can be a good thing. But, almost every game, can be a sign of some serious problems. Like not being able to take a lead and control it. A sign of poor defense. Next wish would be for a good and solid defense. One that can stop the run and put pressure on quarterbacks. The third wish would be for good lines on both defense and offense. A line that wrecks havoc on opposing teams' offenses, and a line that cannot only protect a quarterback, but open holes for Faulk and Jackson. The last wish would be to both Jackson and Faulk in the same back field. A new front office and owners would be nice too.
Fitzpatrick Could Start

New quarterback against Washington

St. Louis Rams interim coach Joe Vitt has been coy all week about whether rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick earned his first career start.
But it was telling on Wednesday when the rookie from Harvard, and not veteran Jamie Martin, met with the media, usual the duty for the No. 1 quarterback. And Fitzpatrick was taking snaps with the first unit while Martin, who had a concussion and blurred vision after absorbing a blow in the first quarter of last week's overtime victory at Houston, watched in sweat clothes.
Regardless of Martin's status it's been more or less an open secret around Rams Park that Fitzpatrick, a favorite of Mike Martz's since he drafted Fitzpatrick in the seventh round, will get the nod this week against the Redskins. And why not? It's tough to bench the NFC offensive player of the week.
Fitzpatrick threw for 310 yards in three quarters and got the Rams (5-6) to overtime with a pair of scores in the final half-minute before throwing the winning touchdown pass to beat the Texans. His yardage is the third highest by an NFL quarterback in his first game.

Could Fitzpatrick be the Rams Future

I wonder if the Rams should conceed the season. The Rams have a long shot at the playoffs. The only way the Rams could win the division would be if the Rams win all their games while the Seahawks loose all their's. They will have to rely on help as well as to win a wild card. They have no control over their future. So, why not just take a look at Fitzpatrick. If it doesn't look like Fitzpatrick could make, then put Jamie back in or Bulger.
The Giants took a shot with Eli Manning, and he panned out this year. A third straight win and an improbable restart of the NFC West race was in sight.
But instead of settling for the 25-yard kick, Vitt morphed into Martz, providing the turning point in the Seahawks' 31-16 victory.
He had holder Dane Looker flip the ball to kicker Jeff Wilkins, who was about to throw to wide-open Cameron Cleeland at the 5. But Seattle cornerback Marcus Trufant charged the kicker. Wilkins aborted the pass and ran feebly into a turnover on downs. With or without key starters…with or without coaches. In the face of adversity that would have crushed previous Seahawks teams – it simply does not matter. We will find a way to win – as a team commitment.
During Passover Seders, people of Jewish faith ask themselves, “Why is this night different from all other nights?”
For Seahawks fans of any faith, the answer is simple:
This is the night the Seattle Seahawks introduced themselves to the NFL’s elite plane – without question or qualification.
Wake up, America.
You have been warned.
Best regards,Your Seattle Seahawks.
We still seven games left and the Seahawks warn the league and America.
The Western Division has not been decided yet.

They had a soft begining schedule, but the end part of the schedule remains the toughest. With the victory over the Rams, does not mean the Western Division. It only means a shot. The Seahawks still have to play the Giants, Eagles, and Colts. They have two games against the Forty-Niners who could be spoilers. They could hand the over confident Seahawks an upset. The only two teams that they beat in their division would be the hapless Cardinals and the fickle Rams. They also have a game against the Packers who won yesterday and may want to settle an old score. Don't forget the Panthers who share the same record 7-2. The season does not end until 12/31, and if they do win the division they still have the playoffs. If they make it to Super Bowl then they can trash talk all they want.

Rams verse Seattle

The Rams have chance to improve their playoff chance with a win over the Seahawks.
