Another Twist in Spygate

The rumor mill says that the Rams may want the Superbowl lost overturned. I have nothing to substantuate this claim. The officail Rams site has not a thing about Spygate, and the post from which I have obtained this information mentions no names in regards to this claim.

First, even if this rumor proves to be true, the league cannot change the outcome of the game. You cannot assume that the spying caused the Rams to loose. An astrics nest to the game will do because this way the out put of the would be put doubt. I can live with that. They might also banish Belicheck from the NFL.

I can't make any more comments on this because I could go many directions and tangents, so just end now.

After Thoughts

I have some thoughts before and after spygate.

This lawsuit against the Patriots could open up other law suits against other teams. Just say, the season ticket holders for the Giants of the 1960's. Maybe last the fans of last year's NY Mets for the meltdown at the end of the season. Or beter yet, the Bengals who never played in a Superbowl. Using a the plaintiff's loose base logic, those who gampled and lost on the Rams and Patriots' Superbowl should be able to sue for lost winnings.

Now, let us visit Marc Bulger, the 67 million dollar wonder. If the new owners take over, do you realy think Bulger will still be getting that money no less be around. Remember, he hasn't brought the team to the Superbowl much less play a whole season. I don't think so.

Belicheck and Walsh controvery, one denying of spying on other teams while the other claiming he did. My money would be on Walsh because of the smear campaign the Patriots launched against him. Let us not forget the destroyed tapes. Why did Goodwell destroy those tapes?

Now, we had Linehan's meltdown in the middle of last season, and the removing of Olsen from callind the plays. Olsen had Linehan's confidence before this losing season, and the had a good past relationship. Now, a couple of new coaches also have a positive past relationship with Linehan. Like Olsen will they be thrown under the bus when the season goes arye?

Finally, being an owner how good you turn a blind eye to the Patriots' evading the salary cap? You either want to complain or copy it.

Ram Player Sues

This has gotten so ridiculous that I would rather not have to comment, but here we go. First of all the players that have the right and that I would listen to would be starters not one year wonders. Secondly, Spygate should be dealt with legally not by lawsuits. Thirdly, we need to the extent of the spying. All we know right now, would be scratching the surface.
Let the legal system investigate before making lawsuits.

Marshall Faulk Speaks

Marchall Faulk has been reported as saying that the league should investigate the alledge tapeing of the 2001 Superbowl but doubts anything will be done if these investigations prove true.

If we look how Major League Baseball handling of the steriod problem. Steriod pumped players helped their ratings. Remember the attraction to the Mcquire and Sossa home run battle. The NFL Superbowl needed an attraction, the undefeated New England Patriots.

The attraction to draw veiwer watch the Patriots go undefeated. Just think of people wanted became Giant fans that night to cheer them on to destroy the Patriots, and the league cared nothing about how the Patriots got to the Superbowl. They cared only for ratings.

Remember, Goodwell investigated Bellicheck and fined him, and time to bury the past. Well, Goodwell has a problem just like Major League Owner's had a problem. You see these allegations just wont go away. Just like Baseball it will take Congress at the expense of the taxpayer to handle Spygate as well with possible prison terms to follow.

If only Goodwell, had not shoved Spygate away for the sake of ratings. This end of Spygate for me, now I just want cover the off season.

Spygate Expands

Spygate has expanded to the point where Kurt Warner has the possibility to sue Bill Belicheck. I started this post before more this.

It seems that Billie has been spying on other teams since he became a coach. Goodwell told ths to Specter. According to this article, Billie spied on the Pittsburgh Steelers twice. His exuse-he that spying on other teams to be legal. The league does allow scouting, but spying? NO!!! Let the hearings begin.

Must Read

This sums up the Patiots spying on the Rams.

If this allegation holds true, there will be an astrick next to that Superbowl thus leaving the Pats' victory in doubt. I like that. For ever more, there will be a doubt about the outcome of the game. There will be also be more doubt about the other Super Bowl victories. Oh well.

I would like to add this. This season the Rams play the Pats. A friend that the Pats will be bad about this Super Bowl loss, and you know what I say, "So what." What do they have to mad about when these two teams meet? They lost to a better team, the Giants, and in a honest game, not like the Rams who may have cheated out their destiny. Something to think about.

Let the hearings begin.

A Move Back To LA

I have not heard anything about such a move, but can only wonder. LA may renovate the Colusiem. The league needs a team in LA, and as far I as know, no mention of expansion. The team maybe about for sale. New owners may want the team to be in a number one markets. Again, I am only palying around with a thought.

New Allocations

More allocations against the Pats.
