Hasslet Becomes Defensive Coordinator for the Rams

Former Saints Head Coach becomes Defensive Coordinator for the Rams. I don't know what to make out of this. Ironic, may be at this time, the only thing that I can say. I remember some of games against this man. Like two games, the Rams beating the Saints in the last game of the regular game of the season only to loose to the Saints in the first round of the playoffs in the 2000 season.
From what I have been reading, Linehan would be quite comfortable if Hasslet used this position as spring board back as a head coach. One question, what about Hasslet leaving before completing the job? I guess maybe this be one of those things you have no control. I mean Linehan has no control over this happening.
I geuss that I am looking for some way to take a shot at what happen the pass couple of weeks, and I can't. The one thing I have learned from this team, never get your hopes up too high because the Rams somehow find a way to crush them. I want to really beleive that things can change for the good, but experiance shows me other wise. I'll just wait and see next year, and hope for the best anyway. Scott Linehan, an offensive coordinator with two NFL teams,

was named coach of the Rams on Thursday.

But, don't get too exited.

Scott Linehan is a sharp offensive tactician who will

call his own plays -- just as Mike Martz used to do.

Could Martz being warning the new coach.

But Linehan should also expect the Rams' front office to be very involved, Martz said.
"They'll pick the players and coaches for him, and he'll do whatever the do," Martz said.

The Rams win their final game. Wouldn't you know they their final game. They actually showed some defense, and they ran the ball. Why couldn't they play this way all season?
I happy the won, but disappointed that this game ment nothing. They may have played for pride, so be it. But, this game still means nothing except for those looking for free agency, and others looking to keep their under a new head coach.
