A Great Falls Ill

Jack Snow fighting staff infection. May God be with you Jack and speedy recovery. I remember your great years. God Bless!

Rams Future Uncertain

With free agency coming and salarie cap considerations the future appears uncertain. Throw a coaching change the future becomes even more uncertain. I can not guess how the Rams will next year. My main concern would be the new coach. Will the Rams go after someone who could make a change or go on the cheap. You can have all the talented players, but if you don't have a coach to lead them than forget it. I guess also if you don't have the players and a good coach, but ownership (such as they have now) you might as well blow the season. We won't know until after the season.

Vitt Take the Blame

Vitt took the blame on Monday for the teams slide. He made some positive statements about the Rams. Saying the work hard and that he shouldn't have pushed them on fourth and short yardage. When he had so, they ended they ended loosing. Example: The lead the Forty-Niners 20-17 only to loose the game after failing fourth and two. Vitts said he should have gone for the points.
One wonders if he taking the blame for Martz?

Could This Faulk's Last Year?

Faulk's future

The Forty-Niners 24, The Rams 20

The Rams loose to the Forty-Niners.

Jamie Martin threw for a career-best 354 yards against a decimated 49ers secondary and the Rams led 20-7 late in the first half. They were mistake-prone the rest of the way, losing for the sixth time in seven games overall and their fourth straight time at home.
At 3-5, they finished with their first losing record at home since 1998. That's also the last time they lost at home to the 49ers.
"I feel like we embarrassed the city of St. Louis," wide receiver Isaac Bruce said. "Today wasn't a good day for us."

Martz Cleared to Coach

Martz could be back on Jan 1st against Dallas. He may also be bought out of contract.

The Rams are expected to reach a settlement with the coach, who has one year remaining on a three-year contract and is due $3.25 million. Martz has clashed with the front office all season and likely would seek a head coaching job elsewhere in the NFL.
John Hadley, a spokesman for Martz, confirmed that the coach had been cleared by his physician. Interim coach Joe Vitt is expected to coach the final regular-season game at Dallas on Jan. 1.

The question: Will he coach the Rams against Dallas?

The Eagles 14 Rams 13

The Rams loose their fifth under Vitt. The Rams dropped another in a lackluster game against Phili. Neither team shined.
Two more to go.

A positive note: Steve Jackson hit the 100o yards.

Faulk Gets Record for Recieving

One bright spot from last Sunday's game. Congrats Marshall and thank you for workhorse and unselfish play.

Bruce moved past Hall of Famer Charlie Joiner for 10th place
in NFL history with 12,181 yards and caught his 800th career pass.

One of the most versatile and skilled running backs in NFL history,
it has been a difficult season for Faulk, who declined interview requests
after the game.

Rams loose other one

The Rams loose another one under Joe Vitt. The Rams stand at 5 and 8 with definately no hope for the playoffs. Oh well.

The Rams Look for A Balance Attack

With Bulger and Martin out, the Rams face the fact they can't survive by the pass along. Maybe the last two months might bring a bright future for the Rams. In away it put an end to the past. What do I hope for? Not having to make comebacks in almost every game. It might make good vidio highlights and once in awhile, it can be a good thing. But, almost every game, can be a sign of some serious problems. Like not being able to take a lead and control it. A sign of poor defense. Next wish would be for a good and solid defense. One that can stop the run and put pressure on quarterbacks. The third wish would be for good lines on both defense and offense. A line that wrecks havoc on opposing teams' offenses, and a line that cannot only protect a quarterback, but open holes for Faulk and Jackson. The last wish would be to both Jackson and Faulk in the same back field. A new front office and owners would be nice too.

Fitzpatrick Could Start

New quarterback against Washington

St. Louis Rams interim coach Joe Vitt has been coy all week about whether rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick earned his first career start.
But it was telling on Wednesday when the rookie from Harvard, and not veteran Jamie Martin, met with the media, usual the duty for the No. 1 quarterback. And Fitzpatrick was taking snaps with the first unit while Martin, who had a concussion and blurred vision after absorbing a blow in the first quarter of last week's overtime victory at Houston, watched in sweat clothes.
Regardless of Martin's status it's been more or less an open secret around Rams Park that Fitzpatrick, a favorite of Mike Martz's since he drafted Fitzpatrick in the seventh round, will get the nod this week against the Redskins. And why not? It's tough to bench the NFC offensive player of the week.
Fitzpatrick threw for 310 yards in three quarters and got the Rams (5-6) to overtime with a pair of scores in the final half-minute before throwing the winning touchdown pass to beat the Texans. His yardage is the third highest by an NFL quarterback in his first game.

Could Fitzpatrick be the Rams Future

I wonder if the Rams should conceed the season. The Rams have a long shot at the playoffs. The only way the Rams could win the division would be if the Rams win all their games while the Seahawks loose all their's. They will have to rely on help as well as to win a wild card. They have no control over their future. So, why not just take a look at Fitzpatrick. If it doesn't look like Fitzpatrick could make, then put Jamie back in or Bulger.
The Giants took a shot with Eli Manning, and he panned out this year. I'm not comparing Fitzpatrick to Eli. But that, the Giants took a shot and it paid off.

Martin and Pace Leave Houston Game

Rams down to their third string quarterback. Jamie left the with a head injury to be replaced by Fitzpatrick. This would be the Fitzpatrick first pro start.

Fitzpatrick look confident.

The Rams Beat Houston in Overtime

The Rams Win in Overtime

"I knew there was no way we were going to lose that game," Fitzpatrick said. "You sort of get that feeling out there, of invincibility, with the way the offense was playing late and the way the defense really stepped up."

Rookie Fitzpatrick replaced Jamie Martin who left the game with a head injury.

"I felt sick out there," said Texans center Steve McKinney. "I was so disgusted I wanted to throw up. We were squandering some opportunities and sure enough it came back to bite us. It's really hard to lose a game when you're up 10 points with 30 seconds to go -- but we did."

The Rams Lose Another Game

What should have been a win turned out to be loss for the Rams. The Cardinals led by Warner soundly beat the Rams.

This loss dims their playoff hopes. They fall three games back behind the Seahawks who won by a field gaol over the 49'rs. The wild card does not not look so good.

Rams Loose to Seattle

Could Martz be disobeying his doctors
SEATTLE (AP) -- It was as if dice-rolling coach Mike Martz was calling plays from his St. Louis-area home Sunday.
The Rams, actually under the direction of assistant head coach Joe Vitt while Martz recovers from a heart virus, were lining up for a field goal in the second quarter to add to a 3-0 lead against first-place Seattle. A third straight win and an improbable restart of the NFC West race was in sight.
But instead of settling for the 25-yard kick, Vitt morphed into Martz, providing the turning point in the Seahawks' 31-16 victory.
He had holder Dane Looker flip the ball to kicker Jeff Wilkins, who was about to throw to wide-open Cameron Cleeland at the 5. But Seattle cornerback Marcus Trufant charged the kicker. Wilkins aborted the pass and ran feebly into a turnover on downs. One wonders if Martz called this one.

Rams loose to Seahawks

Seven Games Left and the Cheap Talk Comes Out

However, you’re going to begin to make yourselves look very, very stupid if you don’t wake the hell up and realize that these are NOT THE SAME OLD SEAHAWKS.
This team can win in dominant fashion (ask the Houston Texans ), but more often than not, it’s the close ones – the nailbiters – the “winning ugly” that sets this Seahawks team apart from others. With or without key starters…with or without coaches. In the face of adversity that would have crushed previous Seahawks teams – it simply does not matter. We will find a way to win – as a team commitment.
During Passover Seders, people of Jewish faith ask themselves, “Why is this night different from all other nights?”
For Seahawks fans of any faith, the answer is simple:
This is the night the Seattle Seahawks introduced themselves to the NFL’s elite plane – without question or qualification.
Wake up, America.
You have been warned.
Best regards,Your Seattle Seahawks.
We still seven games left and the Seahawks warn the league and America.
The Western Division has not been decided yet.

They had a soft begining schedule, but the end part of the schedule remains the toughest. With the victory over the Rams, does not mean the Western Division. It only means a shot. The Seahawks still have to play the Giants, Eagles, and Colts. They have two games against the Forty-Niners who could be spoilers. They could hand the over confident Seahawks an upset. The only two teams that they beat in their division would be the hapless Cardinals and the fickle Rams. They also have a game against the Packers who won yesterday and may want to settle an old score. Don't forget the Panthers who share the same record 7-2. The season does not end until 12/31, and if they do win the division they still have the playoffs. If they make it to Super Bowl then they can trash talk all they want.

Rams verse Seattle

The Rams have chance to improve their playoff chance with a win over the Seahawks. Bulger should be back, as Holt and Bruce. Jackson has been running the ball well with 179 yards. Vitt seems to have the motivated.
The Seahawks are favored by seven points.

Bulger to Return for the Seahawks

Bulger said he would be back after the bye week in for an important game against the Seahawks, Western Division leaders. He also hopes that Bruce, Little, and Holt should also be back for the game.
I'll take this as good news. If the Rams can win this one against the Seahawks, they would be one game behind the Seahawks. If the Seahawks loose next week and the Rams beat the Seahawks, both teams would be tied. Not a bad place to be for the second part of the season. The Rams can only afford one loss during the rest of the games to remain in the playoff hunt.

Another coach with heart problems

Coah Vitt had angigoplasy yesterday. I wish him well. But two coaches with heart problems, this says a lot about the Rams

Rams 24 Jags 21

The rams improved their record t0 4-4 with this victory. Right now they remmain 1 game behind the Seahawks in the west. The Seahawks have a bye this week. Jackson did well with 179 yards rushing, but Jamie had four interceptions.
The 179 yards rushing would be a positive side since the Rams pass a lot.
Next week they have a bye.
